Privacy Policy
In short: Path of the Idle itself collects nothing for us: there are no accounts, no analytics, no in-app purchases, and your progress is saved only on your device. The game can show optional rewarded ads from Google AdMob that give short in-game boosts or double your rewards from time away. If you choose to watch one, Google's ad software uses device and usage information (such as your advertising ID, IP address and ad interactions) to show the ad, measure it and prevent fraud. Ads need an internet connection; the rest of the game works offline. You can manage your ad privacy choices in the game and in Android settings.
1. Who we are
Path of the Idle is a game for Android (package name com.motusaga.idlepath) made and published by motusaga.com ("we", "us"). This policy covers the game and this website.
The game uses one third-party partner: Google, through the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob, to show rewarded ads) and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP, to ask for and store your consent choices). No other advertising, analytics, tracking or crash-reporting services are included.
2. What the game collects
We collect nothing. The game sends no personal or device data to us, and we have no server that receives any. In particular:
- There is no sign-in and no account to create.
- There are no in-app purchases and no payment processing.
- We include no analytics, tracking or crash-reporting libraries of our own.
- The game does not access your contacts, precise location, camera, microphone, photos or other files.
What Google's ad software collects. The game includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK. To request, show and measure ads, and to prevent fraud and abuse, it automatically collects and sends to Google:
- Approximate location, derived from your IP address (the game does not request the location permission);
- Device and other identifiers, the Android advertising ID, the app set ID and, if applicable, other identifiers related to signed-in accounts on the device;
- App interactions related to ads, such as app launches, taps and video views;
- Diagnostics, information about how the app and the ad software perform, such as app launch time, hang rate and energy usage.
Google uses and shares this data for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and the Google Privacy Policy. Google states that this data is encrypted in transit (TLS). We do not receive it; AdMob only gives us aggregated reports, such as how many ads were shown, which do not identify you.
Because of the ads, the game requests the Android INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE permissions and the advertising ID permission (AD_ID), all added by Google's SDK. It requests no other permissions.
3. Ads and consent
- Ads are optional. The only ads are rewarded videos you choose to start: from the Boosts panel, in exchange for a short boost (more experience, gold, drops or rarer items for a limited time), or from the "While you were away" screen, to double the experience, gold and materials earned while you were away. You never need to watch an ad to play, progress or finish the game, and there are no banner or pop-up ads.
- Consent. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the game shows Google's consent message before any ad is requested, and you can choose whether Google may use your data for personalised ads. Where US state privacy laws apply, the same message lets you opt out of the sale or sharing of your data for targeted advertising. If you do not give consent, Google may still show non-personalised or limited ads, which use data only for purposes such as frequency capping, measurement and fraud prevention.
- Changing your choices. Where the consent message applies, open Options › Privacy choices in the game (also linked from the Boosts panel) to review or change your choice at any time.
- Personalised ads and your advertising ID. On Android you can delete or reset your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your device settings: on most devices Settings › Privacy › Ads, then Delete advertising ID or Reset advertising ID (on older Android versions, Settings › Privacy › Advanced › Ads › Opt out of Ads Personalization). The menu names can differ slightly by device maker. You can also manage how Google personalises ads at My Ad Center.
- Ad content. We have limited the ads to content suitable for teens (Google's "T" rating) and blocked sensitive categories.
4. What is stored on your device
To keep your progress, the game saves a few files in its private app storage on your device: your character save slots (including your Codex progress and the time you last played, which the game uses on your device to work out rewards while you were away), account-wide unlocks (such as legends), your settings (such as sound volume and graphics options) and your boost timers (boosts.json: how much boost time you have left, and when it was last updated). Google's consent software also stores your consent choice on the device so it does not ask you every time. These files never leave your device through the game, and we cannot see them. The live wallpaper is the same game running on your home or lock screen; it uses these same files and collects nothing more.
You can delete them at any time by clearing the app's storage in Android settings or by uninstalling the game. If your device's own backup feature is turned on, Android may include app data in your device backup under your device settings and Google's terms; we do not receive that data.
5. Google Play
If you download the game from Google Play, Google handles the download, and any data Google collects for that is covered by Google's Privacy Policy. Google Play gives developers aggregated statistics (such as install counts) and technical crash and performance reports; these do not identify you, and we use them only to fix problems and improve the game.
6. This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, third-party scripts or third-party fonts, and has no forms. The trailer on the home page is a YouTube video: it loads from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com) only if you press play, and then YouTube's (Google's) privacy policy applies. Until then the page sends nothing to YouTube. It also hosts app-ads.txt, a public text file that tells advertisers which ad sellers may sell ads in the game; it collects nothing.
It is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver the pages and protect the site, Cloudflare, as our hosting provider, processes the technical information every web request carries (such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested) and may keep it in standard request logs for security and reliability. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. We do not use this information to identify or profile visitors.
7. If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply to you, do not share it, and will delete the conversation on request.
8. Children's privacy
The game is meant for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. Ads in the game are not requested as child-directed, and their content is limited to Google's "T" (teen) rating. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and the game itself collects none from anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or US state laws such as the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you, or to object to or opt out of its use for advertising.
- Ad data is collected and processed by Google, which decides how it is used as an independent controller. Use the in-game Privacy choices, your Android ad settings (section 3), My Ad Center and Google's privacy controls to exercise your rights, or see the Google Privacy Policy. We cannot access or delete that data for you, because we never receive it.
- Anything you have sent us by email: write to the address below and we will help.
10. Changes to this policy
If the game or this website changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this policy before that change is released and change the effective date above. The current version is always at https://idlepath.motusaga.app/privacy.
What changed on 2026-11-02: version 0.2.0 adds a second optional rewarded ad (doubling rewards from time away, section 3) and mentions the live wallpaper and the locally saved last-played time (section 4); the website's trailer is a YouTube video that loads only when you press play (section 6). The game collects nothing new.
What changed on 2026-10-21: the game now includes optional rewarded ads from Google AdMob and Google's consent tool. The earlier version of this policy said the game had no ads, no network access and collected no data; sections 1 to 4, 8 and 9 were rewritten for the ads.
